David Whitmer was born on January 7, 1805 in Pennsylvania. While he was still a baby David’s father moved the family to western New York where they stayed until 1831. Emma Hale Smith (1804–1879)

Emma Hale Smith was the wife of Joseph Smith Jr. the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Emma was born on July 10, 1804, the seventh of nine children and grew up in Harmony, Pennsylvania. Martin Harris (1783–1875)

Martin Harris was born on May 18,1783. In 1808, he married Lucy Harris. They eventually had six children. In the War of 1812, Harris enlisted and was eventually promoted to first sergeant in the Thirty-ninth New York Militia. He was known as an honored veteran when he returned. Newel K. Whitney (1795–1850)

Newel Kimball Whitney was born in 1795 in Vermont to Samuel Whitney and Susanna Kimball. Whitney insisted that both of his family names were used throughout his life. When Whitney was 19 years old, America was at war with Britain. Whitney became an army sutler, providing food, military supplies, and other needs to the soldiers. Orrin Hatch is a senator for Utah and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
